An ode to a broom

The ode

Housecleaning happens.
Well, it oughta.
If you ever have people over, it definitely should.
If you ever have clients over, it dang well better.

Delegating regular chores to a housecleaning service frees up your time while letting you enjoy the fresh feel of a clean house.

For financial or other reasons, many aren’t ready for someone else to sweep, mop, dust, shine, and scrub for us. How Simple Is That offers a long page of cleaning tips ranging from the microbial germs in the shower to the crusty stuff baking onto the walls of the microwave (assuming you have a microwave, which I don’t. Assuming you have a shower, for that matter, which I do).

I appreciate that she leans toward the non-toxic cleaners–you don’t need to be working your muscles and be exposed to hazardous materials. Double gross.

And no post on cleaning would be complete without reference to the epic-ly long pages of the FlyLady. I find her site a little confusing to navigate, but just found the Table of Contents which has things ordered in a way this left brain can understand. She offers all kinds of advice, strategy, and motivation to get the house under control and stay under control.
