Lynne Franks
On the home page of her website, Lynne Franks writes:
“My vision of the world is for the creation of a new type of conscious society, where we can live and behave in a way that will bring peace, harmony and long-term security to this planet and all its inhabitants. I believe the future is all about the power of local and global grassroots communities with women as the messengers”
- Lynne Franks, April 2005
Love it!
I feel I have more to write about this creative entrepreneur and don’t know where to start. Her website does a great job of revealing her roots and creative projects through the press coverage archive (though I didn’t see anything about WELL, Women’s Education, Literacy to Leadership that she mentioned in her response to my request to use her quote on this page. Sounds like we have much to look forward to!) There are so many things she’s doing and has done that are just fascinating to me. Empowering is the word. Through metaphor (like using the garden for The Seed Handbook), imagery (illustrations that meld beautifully with her ideas), words (inspiring and descriptive) she makes her tools and ideas accessible.
Her impact on me comes primarily from her book, The Seed Handbook, the feminine way to create business. What that book did, back in 2000, was plant a seed in me. Thinking about it right now, that seed is about permission–to do it differently, to do it my way, to be “out” in making my values and dreams a vocal part of my life rather than something tucked away at home confined to the pages of my journal. These weren’t encouragements I received in school or my working experience up to that point.
