Signs to live by
The following email was sent to me today. I’ll call it one of those “humanizers” worth sharing.
Hi Shawn. Below is an interesting way of interfacing with people.
Got it from a site which makes musical instruments. (One of which I am
going to buy when my $ gets thicker.)

*Signs*
The other day I stopped in the post office. The clerk that helped me was
new and she had a sign that read “I’m a retail trainee. Thank you for
your patience.” After reading the sign I was completely prepared to be
patient and was happy to do so. Then I found myself wishing that I could
have my own sign. It might say something like – “I’m a human being.
Thank you for your kindness.” or “I’m a work in progress. Thank you for
your compassion.” Then I realized that we all probably need one of these
signs. Every human being on the planet faces difficulties, has their own
inner struggles, makes mistakes, and most likely wants some degree of
inner peace. I find it helpful to picture everyone I meet wearing one of
these signs – a sign asking for patience, kindness, and compassion. If I
can picture this sign it helps me to be more patient, more kind and more
compassionate and only good things can come of that!
