The April Issue of the Nevada City Advocate has hit the streets. My Simplify column, entitled Do professional athletes have the right stuff? has been posted at their online site.

The subject explored in this issue of Simplify: Inquiring minds want to know… are professional athletes Natural Professionals? How would this be determined? What might the criteria be?

No ifs, ands or buts about it. Here’s the column that was printed in last month’s Nevada City Advocate called “There’s no more putting this one off“, now on their website.

I do hereby proclaim February to be “No Excuse” month. “By what right?” you might ask. Well, none, really, but aren’t you tired of hearing excuses?

Often we use excuses as a storytelling mechanism. If there were no excuses, I wouldn’t have heard that a TV fell on so-and-so’s head. Or that so-and-so left his keys in the car at the gas station and someone drove off with the car…

The November 2009 issue of the Nevada City Advocate came out last week.

As I’ve had some good response to my article this issue, and since it isn’t posted on their site yet, here is a pdf for download.

It’s about taking time to reflect on what success means to you and the speed at which you try to make your dreams happen. Could it be that it’s inconsistent with your desired quality of life?

National Inquirer, look out, here I come! It’s time for yours truly to hit the press. Ok, well maybe not for the N.I. and I probably won’t write about parakeets.

Not that I have anything against parakeets, but I’ve no proof that they have secret alliances with alien life forms. And I probably wouldn’t begrudge them a good pizza if they so desired.

Ok, enough wackiness. The press part was real. I’ll be writing a column (once a month) for the weekly Nevada City Advocate starting in August! Yay!

I’m thinking the title will be The Natural Professional. It’s soooo time for that to hit the streets!

I’m thinking some combo of tips & tools, while continually touching back to meaning and cultivating the space to express your inner richness. A weave of the inner and outer experience.

Whatever ends up happening, I’m looking forward to this new medium. (big grin!!)

One of my comments was excerpted in the local paper the next morning. The subject was the park at the entrance to historic downtown Nevada City which has a notorious reputation of being a drug dealing spot.

That’s me at the very end of the article saying, “Residents spoke in favor of upgrading the park, with resident Shawn Tuttle asking the council to keep alive the proposal to bring art projects to the park.”

Am I withholding… ? I haven’t posted the video of the televised nor have I recorded and posted my speech from yesterday. Not so interesting just hearing about it, I know, I know. OK. Will do, soon. =)
