Making it easy for others to track your email changes

I just received a message from a fellow Toastmaster who had changed her email address. It wasn’t a “change of email address” notice, so how did I know she had changed her email address? In her email signature, she had typed:

4/19/06 NEW Email:
HerName (at) server (dot) com (not her real email address)

Including the date in her alert was so smart!

Especially in light of the fact that I recently received an email from a friend who had in his email signature:

new cell phone 867-555-5309 (not his real cell phone #)

I’ve had that number in his record for at least 2 years. Understanding that he may need a long transition period for his clients, if he had dated his message, I would know that I don’t need to check his record to make sure I am up to date.
