Excel formatting — new line within a cell

Oh my gosh, new discovery. I’ve been wondering how to do this for about a gazillion years.

Scenario: You are creating a document in Excel which includes a bunch of text.
Quiz Question: How do you start a new line within a cell? (hint: it’s not “return” or even “shift + return”)
Answer: Option + Command (the apple key) + Return

Mind you, this is for Mac. Does it also work for PC? Let us know!

I can’t believe how often I forget this and need it again, nor how hard it is to find. Don’t even think about trying to look it up in Excel Help, and it’s even hard in Google. I should Post-It it to my monitor…

You know where to look if you forget again! Glad to know it wasn’t just me who had difficulty finding this :) Sometimes searching in a program’s Help section feels like navigating a country whose language I haven’t learned yet.
