    1. A Note from Shawn

    Shawn Tuttle

The 100th issue. Yes! Can you hear the party whistles, glasses clinking, hootin’ and hollerin’? It’s downright rowdy, I tell you!

Co-editor Lance Brown and I sent out the first issue of the Simplifier on May 3, 2006—just under four years ago. Considering that from 1988 – 2004 I hadn’t lived in one place, had a serious relationship, or been at a single job for more than three years in a row, the thought of working with one person continuously to grow the Project Simplify legacy boggles my mind. But we aren’t here to boggle, we’re here to celebrate, so Yay!!

Since that first newsletter issue we’ve changed logos, shuffled sections, ditched the fax version, added the audio version, changed hair styles, and cut wheat out of the diet—all in the interests of providing you with great content =)

On other HQ fronts, video has definitely been the recurring theme around here. We’ve started a Project Simplify YouTube channel, I’m gearing up for the first Natural Professional program in April (see the Events section just below), and Lance is stepping away from his co-editor role to focus on marketing and tech development. Never fear, he’ll still be in the newsletter with his Not-So-Simple Life column.

    Thanks for reading and enjoy!

    3. Our Featured Quote

“But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?”

    -Albert Camus

    4. Project Simplify Says So

Here are Shawn’s hand-picked selections from the Project Simplify blog:

    The Mastermind Group
”What do you get when you put four smart, interesting people getting together to help each along the wily, treacherous path of growing a business? The magic of a Mastermind Group!” (more)

Social Media iconsFocusing on social media, one venue at a time
”Talking with an artist friend the other day, the subject of social media came up. After listing all the outlets she ‘needed’ to get up to speed on: a facebook fan page, Twitter, podcasts, videocasts, blogging, etc. she looked about ready to throw it all out the window. ‘It’s overwhelming!’ she lamented.” (more)

    Excuses, excuses, excuses
”No ifs, ands or buts about it. Here’s the column that was printed in last month’s Nevada City Advocate called ‘There’s no more putting this one off’, now posted on their website.” (more)

You scratch our back, we’ll…try to keep putting out
    the best newsletter we can.

Please forward The Simplifier to someone who might enjoy it.

    5. Lifestyles of the Natural & Professional

    Introduced by Shawn Tuttle

This section provides an update on the Natural Professional, a Project Simplify adventure.

Creating the Course, and Going Visual!

    Creating the course

These last couple of weeks have been dedicated to morphing the Handbook’s Table of Contents into a course outline. One of the great advantages of the course is that there will be activities that you just can’t really do in a book format. Sure I can write, "put the book down and go do this activity," but who really actually goes and does it? Be honest now…

One big picture item to note is that while I talk about the table of contents for the handbook or the outline for the course, what I’m really referring to is the same Natural Professional methodology. It’s a step-by-step program that can be configured into quite a variety of formats: one-on-one work (in-person or over the phone), 6-week workshop or a weekend intensive, online in a webinar, or even in a self-guided course.

This methodology, no matter the form of distribution, is designed to support and inspire you to:
    – recognize your natural flow as the CEO of your commitments, and
    – work in harmony with your life
…in other words, to get in your groove as a Natural Professional!

The first run of the course (“6 Steps to a Life of Purpose, Passion, and Peace“) will be in Nevada City, California in April (see Upcoming Events above). More info on the course in the next issue of The Simplifier.

    Going visual with video

Words, audio, video—we love it all! Local inspiration nexus Suzie Daggett interviewed me about the NP last week for her video blog Insightful Bits. Click here to watch.

(On a related note, the Project Simplify YouTube channel is a-hoppin’ with fresh video bits from yours truly, as I explore the creation of my new office space!)

    6. The Not-So-Simple Life

    by Lance Brown

    Christmas in March

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming, “The World’s Largest To-Do List, Part II: The Mind Mappening” to bring you this live report from a special press conference, being held by notorious procrastinator Lance Brown:

This is Chas Chasely, and I’m here with several other reporters outside a small cabin in Grass Valley California, where world-class procrastinator Lance Brown is expected to announce—ooh, he’s coming out! It looks like we’re about to start…

Lance Brown: Thank you all for coming. I believe you’ve all been briefed as to the nature of this, so I’ll just get right to it: I’m finally ready to mail out Christmas presents to my family members. …
